CAROL SILGER Obituary

Carol Kay Silger, 69, of Monkey Island, Okla., passed away at her home on Sept. 1, 2012.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at 1:00 at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Pawhuska with Rev. Phil Lawrence officiating. Reception immediately following in the Fellowship Hall at The First Christian Church, Pawhuska.
The daughter of Paul E. and Alma (Lewis) Hutson, Carol was born on Aug. 13, 1943 in Pawhuska. She graduated from Pawhuska High School and then attended Oklahoma State University. On Dec. 4, 1967, Carol and Mike Silger were united in marriage in Bartlesville.
Carol worked for the Bartlesville Public School System until her retirement in 1997. After her retirement, she relocated to Monkey Island and began selling antiques at the Red Door in Grove. She also had an online shop called "Okie Monkey Business." Carol was a member of the Monkey Island Women's Association and enjoyed spending time with her friends. Her greatest achievement was her family. She treasured the time shared with them and devoted herself to being the best wife, mother and "Grammy."
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Elenor Barnes.
She is survived by her husband, Mike, of the home; her five children, Sheila Kraybill of Stillwater, Renee Rosson of Edmond, Sherry Peters of Manchester, New Hampshire, Natalie Fluty of Stillwater and Bobby Silger of Heartland, Texas; ten grandchildren, Kaylee Kraybill, Jamie Kraybill, Sam Kraybill, Skylar Rosson, Lex Rosson, Cailin Fluty, Sage Fluty, Allye Fluty, Lilly Silger and Bobby Silger III.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to "Jayla Alexsis Tuck Cancer Foundation" to support local families with children battling cancer. Mail to P.O. Box 3303, Enid, OK 73702. Donations can be made online at www.bugginoutforkids.org.
Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral home and Crematory in Bartlesville.
