Glen Lewis Obituary

Glen D. Lewis, age 84 and Bartlesville resident, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 22, 2017.
Glen Doyle Lewis was born on August 28, 1932, in Bartlesville. He was the son of Glenn F. Lewis and Herma (Pefley) Lewis. He grew up, received his education, and lived almost all of his life in Bartlesville (except for two years in the military). He was a 1950 graduate of Bartlesville College High School.
Glen was united in marriage on June 16, 1954 to Jacqueline "Jackie" Holcomb. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he attained the rank of Corporal.
He was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company for a total of 35 years where he was a professional driver/chauffeur, and then a supervisor in the mailroom. He retired from Phillips in 1986. He and Jackie also owned the Drapery Nook in Bartlesville where they both worked, making and installing draperies and other window treatments in many homes and businesses, not only in Bartlesville, but in surrounding communities as well.
Glen attended the United Church of God in Tulsa. He was a member of the Frank Phillips Men's Club and was a member of the Spokesman's Club. He liked to be in his shop, working with his hands. His family was very important to him and he will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie, of the family home; son, Mike Lewis and his wife, Karen, of Tulsa; and daughter, Kathy Lewis of Monrovia, California; two granddaughters and their husbands, Kristina Dawn and Aaron Vanderslice, and Stefanie Michelle and Daniel Vanderslice; and four great grandchildren, Adam Michael, Kaleb Aaron, Abigail Delyse and Sterling Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Frank Lewis in 1984; and sister, Joyce Greenwood-Still in 2012.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Glen's memory to UCG, c/o Good Works, P.O. Box 541027, Cincinnati, OH 45254 (please note "Good Works" on the memo line of your check); or to the Boys & Girls Club of Bartlesville, 401 S. Seminole Ave., Bartlesville, OK 74003.
A memorial service in celebration of Glen's life will be held on Monday, August 28 at 11:00 AM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home chapel, 710 S. Dewey Ave., Bartlesville. Pastor Vince Szymkowiak and Pastor Ed Dowd will be the officiants. Arrangements are under the direction of the Arnold Moore and Neekamp Funeral Home.
