James Gardner Obituary
Mr. James Clifford "Jim" Gardner, 78, Ochelata native and retiree of the D. P. Bonham Transfer Company, died at 10:10 p.m. on Saturday, May 22 in Bartlesville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 28, in the Westside Southern Baptist Church, 1000 S.W. Virginia, Bartlesville. Pastor Dave Comptson will be the officiant. Committal prayers and interment will be directed in the Memorial Park Cemetery by The Arnold Moore Funeral Service.
Visitation for Mr. Gardner will be Wednesday, May 26, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; continuing on Thursday, May 27, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. in the Drawing Rooms of The Arnold Moore Funeral Residence.
He was the son of Pearl Franklin Gardner and Margaret (Hackett) Gardner. Jim was reared and completed his education in the Ochelata Community Schools. He had been employed by the Dewey Portland Cement Company prior to his employment with the D. P. Bonham Transfer Company from which he was retired following over 30 years employment. He was first married to Ruby Sanders from Okesa, Oklahoma, and they had two children. On September 29, 1967, he was united in marriage to Anna Lea "Ann" (Dixon) (Gibbs) Williams at Nowata, Oklahoma and they made their home in Bartlesville. Ann preceded him in death on March 18, 2004 and Jim continued his residence in Bartlesville living in retirement.
Jim had attended the Westside Southern Baptist Church in Bartlesville.
Survivors are his son, Michael G. Gardner and his wife, Cheryl; daughter, Patricia M. Gardner; stepson, Hollis R. Gibbs and stepdaughter, Elizabeth Ann (Williams) (Crawford) Barrett; granddaughter, Ruby Denise (Gardner) Wimberly; nine step-grandchildren; 13 step-great grandchildren; brother, John Eugene Gardner; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; mother; wife, Ann; granddaughter, Michelle D. Gardner; step-son, Edward Leroy Williams; seven brothers, Edward Dale, Ernest Hugh, Lee James, Roy Pearl, Fred Elmer, Robert, and Rex Gardner; three sisters, Grace Greenfield, Jean Gardner and Bonnie Rhamy; and two brothers-in-law, Raymond Greenfield and Tom Rhamy.
