Betty Heermann Obituary
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, followed by funeral services at 10 a.m., at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055; 816-373-3600.
Betty was born on February 10, 1931, in Concordia, Mo., to John Herman Wehking and Dottie Priscilla (Bradley) Wehking. She was baptized in Bethel Church in Concordia on December 27, 1944, and later married the love of her life, Wilfred Heermann, in the same church on August 24, 1947. In 1958, they moved to Independence area and joined St. Paul's Lutheran Church and later Messiah Lutheran Church. Betty retired from Safeway Foods after 32 years of service, in several stores in the area.
Survivors include son, Kenny Heermann and his wife, Becky; granddaughters, Ashley Harding and her husband, Mark, and Jennifer Heermann-Casey; great-grandchildren, Lauren Harding, Addison Harding, Claire Casey and Sophie Casey.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wilfred, and several brothers and sisters.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church Food Pantry.
