Carol Miller passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026 at the age of 84. Despite a diagnosis of Alzheimer's over ten years ago, Carol met each day with joy and was lovingly cared for in the home by her husband Ross.
Carol and Ross met in the 8th grade, began dating during their sophomore year and graduated from Blue Springs High School in 1959. The two were inseparable during their adult life, running their business Ross Miller Cleaners, living on 90 acres with horses and cattle, and bringing three sons into the world. Carol never kept a calendar, there wasn't time for that. Carol was constantly on the move, juggling the demands of the family business, driving kids to swim practices and meets, baseball games, basketball games, football games, and weekend trips to Lake Pomme de Terre and Lake Stockton. Carol was a talented water skier and snow skier. Carol could hold her own in any athletic competition and always played to win.
Above all, Carol loved time with her family and friends on their sailboat Moxie. As the demands of shuttling kids around town decreased, Carol treasured her time with Ross at Lake Stockton where the two developed many close friendships. Carol was active with the Stockton Yacht club, helping to organize social events and regattas. As with all things, Carol raced to win and most of the time she did. Carol spent her life racing, never cruising.
In later years Carol excelled as a grandmother. She treasured every second of time with her grandkids, particularly when she had them all to herself in her home. Grilled cheese sandwiches and chocolate milkshakes were her specialty. Children had their run of the property like their parents growing up, cruising through the pastures on the Gator and camping out with friends. Mamo took grand parenting to another level.
In addition to her husband Ross, Carol leaves behind her three sons, Shawn (Laurie) Miller, Tyler Miller, and Pat (A.J.) Miller, along with four grandchildren, Levi, Shawn, Paige, and Josie, and one great-grandchild David. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and two older sisters.
A visitation was scheduled at St. John LaLande Catholic Church on Saturday, January 24, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with a funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon followed the Mass at the St. John LaLande Parish Center. Arrangements were entrusted to Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs. Memories of Carol and words of comfort for her family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com
