Francis "Dale" Embree, 88, of
Blue Springs, Mo., died Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at St. Luke's South Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Timothy Lutheran Church, 301 E. Wyatt Rd. Blue Springs with Pastor Kendall Meyer officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., prior to the service. Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Timothy Lutheran Church and/or School.
Born near
Green Ridge, Mo., on June 10, 1937, Dale was the son of the late Perry White Embree and Beulah Frances Bullard Embree. Dale graduated from Green Ridge High School in 1955 and attended college at CMSC (UCM). Dale volunteered for the draft in the U.S. Army in 1957. He served for two years, with 19 months in Germany. Following his military service, Dale was employed in the lending and mortgage business for 33 years, all with the same company. He began employment with Dial Finance, which merged with Norwest Financial, which ultimately merged with Wells Fargo. Dale served his employer in several locations namely: Lincoln, Neb.,
St. Louis, Mo.,
Kansas City, Mo. and
Independence, Mo. After retirement in 1992, Dale was employed 13+ years for Columbian Title, which merged with First American Title.
On September 5, 1959, Dale married the love of his life, Phyllis Sue Lampe, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Concordia, Mo. They were married for 66 years. Dale was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church on May 29, 1960. His confirmation verse was Psalm 37:5.
In addition to his wife, Phyllis, survivors include a son, Gregory (Martha) Embree; a daughter, Lori (Karl) Zinke; three granddaughters, Audrey (Bobby) Rose, Rachel Embree (Heath Edwards), and Jordan (Rob) Sanders; and one great-granddaughter, Brielle Sophia Rose. Also surviving are nephews and nieces, David Embree, Dan Embree, Gary Galloway, Rodney Galloway, Kathy Warner and Sandra Welch, other family members and many friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, George Embree, Harvey Embree, Homer Embree and Omer Embree, four sisters, Opal Hilt, Ruby Henderson, Helen Oswald and Dorothy Galloway, several nieces and nephews.
Dale loved to golf and was a golfing member of The Country Club of Blue Springs for 39 years. He served several years on the executive board of the Better Business Bureau of Kansas City and two years as president of Kansas City Lenders Association. He served as a volunteer in numerous positions at Timothy and Messiah Lutheran Churches and several civic organizations. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and served with him.
