Lei Lenore EnTip Foo Peppers, 83, of Independence, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at Rosewood Health and Rehab Center in Independence, Mo.

"Tippie" was born September 1, 1930, to Prescott AuChen Foo and Lois Gertrude Cooper Foo in Wailuku, Hawaii, where her father was a missionary. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1948 and from Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa, in 1950. Following radiologic technology school at the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital in Independence, Mo., she worked as an x-ray technologist at several hospitals and doctors' offices in the Kansas City area. She later worked at GEHA and the Fort Osage School District. She was an active member of her church, often singing at services.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Lani Peppers-Angle and husband, John F. Angle and their four children of Charlottesville, Va.; her son, Richard L. Peppers, his partner, Lori Alwine and his three children of Independence, Mo.; and her daughter-in-law, Melanie Peppers and her two sons of Liberty, Mo. She also leaves behind her much-loved nieces, nephews, and three great-grand children. Tippie was predeceased by her sister, Gertrude EnOi Jaynes; her oldest son, David Lee Peppers; and her former husband, LeRoy Calvin Peppers Jr.

The family would like to thank Groves Community Hospice, especially Kent, Jill and Denise, for their kind and compassionate care of their mother.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Restoration Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Independence Central Branch, 919 S. Delaware Ave., Independence. High Priest Argel Gross and Priest Roland Mohler will be presiding.
