With deep love and heavy hearts, we honor the life of James William Gaunt II, who passed away suddenly on October 29, 2025, surrounded by his family.

James lived a life defined by dedication, loyalty, and love. He began his career with Foley Plumbing and Heating, where he built a foundation of strong work ethic and integrity. He went on to proudly serve over 25 years with the United States Government, followed by more than 10 years as a government contractor. A remarkable example of commitment and purpose, James retired at the extraordinary age of 80.

James believed in working hard, supporting those he loved, and making the most of each day. Outside of work, he enjoyed bowling, traveling, and creating special memories on cruises and family vacations. A lifelong animal lover, James adored the many dogs who shared his life - including the seven loyal companions he leaves behind, who brought him immeasurable joy.

Though he accomplished much in life, his greatest joy came from his family - most especially from his role as "Grumpy" to his beloved granddaughters, who lit up his world and filled his heart with pride.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Beverly; his children Gary (Jan) Gaunt, Ryan Gaunt, and Nicole (Jeremy) Lower; and his treasured granddaughters Kira and Ripley Lower. He is also survived by his Aunt Gail Robinson, Beverly's mother, Norma Schifko, and Beverly's brother, Edward Schifko.

James leaves behind a legacy of strength, quiet devotion, and deep family love. His presence will be profoundly missed, but the lessons he taught, the memories he made, and the love he gave will continue on in all who knew him.
