Mickey Ellis, 92, of Fredericksburg, VA, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, she found her greatest joy in her family and friends. Mickey's life was a radiant example of strength, love, and spirit.

Mickey enjoyed a long career as a waitress, including many years at Frost Diner and the Charbroiler in Warrenton, VA, where she loved meeting and interacting with new people each day. Generous with her time and compassion, she volunteered with Hospice and was honored for contributing more than 1,000 miles of service. Mickey found beauty in life's simple pleasures. She loved tending her flower gardens, watching birds dance around her feeders, and creating beautiful crafts with her own hands. Even at 92, she remained remarkably active-mowing her own grass, weed eating, and tending her burn pile with the same determination and independence that defined her life. These passions reflected her nurturing nature, energy, and creative soul.

She is survived by her children, Wanda (Ed) Holdaway, James (Loretta) Kendrick, Linda Griffin, Sandra (Denny) Higgins, Barbara (Sean) Kelly, and Judy (Jack) Filmeck, along with dozens of beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grand children.

To her family, Mickey leaves a legacy of love, resilience, and joy. To her friends and those lucky enough to have known her, she will always be remembered as a spirited, feisty woman whose warmth and wit could light up any room. Though she will be deeply missed, Mickey's memory will forever bloom in the hearts of those she loved.

The family received friends on Tuesday, October 14 from 6-8 PM at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton where funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 15 at 10:30 AM. Interment followed at Midland Cemetery.
