Nancy Glascock Obituary
Nancy Edwards Glascock
November 14, 1936 - August 13, 2025
Nancy Edwards Glascock, 88, of Bealeton, known affectionately as "Nanny", died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on August 13, 2025.
Born November 14, 1936, in Winchester, she was the daughter of Jesse and Marguerite Edwards. She grew up in and around Paris and Upperville, Virginia. She had great memories of life on a farm.
Nancy had several jobs during her life. She was the secretary at the former Northwestern Elementary School, childcare provider, and most importantly, a housewife and mother. She spent a lifetime shaping the hearts and minds of children. She loved watching baseball, especially if the O's were playing. She was an avid reader and a Prayer Warrior. Her advice to all was to always respect others for who and what they are, love God, your family, and yourself.
Nancy's was a life well lived. Her adult children loved her dearly and thought it was too soon for her to go. She was a woman of great faith, who even while in the ICU, would tell others to trust in the Lord. She made friends of all ages wherever she went. Her hospital nurses called her "Grandma" and fought over who was her favorite. She loved telling stories and listening to other's stories. Her family was her greatest source of pride and joy. She was married to the love of her life for 62 years. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren would do anything for her and vice versa. As a parent and grandparent, she provided a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. She was the grandmother that went on field trips, traded baseball cards, and baked cookies with her little ones. Her mind was razor sharp and she always remembered everyone's birthday and their age! Nancy had a kind, gentle soul, but was also tough. In the words of Shakespeare, "though she be but little, she is fierce". No matter the situation, she was calm and exhibited great strength. She left an indelible mark upon all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph A. Glascock, Sr., as well as daughter, Terry Hamilton, granddaughter, Maggie Hudson, son-in-law Tom Hamilton, beloved sister, Mary Frazier, and great granddaughter, Jasmine Matthews. She leaves behind her children, Susan McClanahan, Lois Grimsley (Butch), Ginger Hudson (Mike), Randolph Glascock, Jr., and Karen Howard (Jeff); grandchildren, Gary & Jesse McClanahan, Jeremiah & Jacob Williams, Katie Matthews, Randi Castillo, Andy Jenkins, Josh & John Graves, Michael & Nicholas Hudson, Stephanie Glascock, and Luke & Sam Howard. She was also blessed with 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Thursday, August 21, at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. After a private, graveside service, there will be a memorial service at 1 pm, Friday, August 22, at Bealeton Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to a cause near to her heart, the Feed My Sheep Ministry, at Bealeton Baptist Church, PO Box 50, Bealeton, VA. 22712.
