Elroy Raines Obituary

BALTIMORE - Elroy Raines, 71, of Baltimore, formerly of Fayetteville, N.C. and Ramseur, N.C., passed away on Sunday Oct. 20, 2013, in Ellicott City, Md. He served with the Pentagon in Ethiopia and was an Army Veteran. He also managed condominiums and apartment homes in Maryland. He is survived by his brother, Henry Albert Raines and wife, Florence, of Fayetteville; and four sisters, Martha Maultsby, of Fayetteville, Katherine McLeod, of Fayetteville, Alice Faye Davis and husband, Maurice "Dick" Davis, of Hope Mills, N.C., Mae Carol Raines, of Fayetteville and Sue Calder, of Fayetteville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was loved very much. The family will receive friends tonight, Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at 2 p.m. in Parks Crossroads Christian Church in Ramseur. A memorial service in Baltimore will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parks Crossroads Christian Church; or to a veterans association. Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
