I'm so lost and hurt right now. This man actually saved my life while serving in Korea. The greatest man I've ever known. I owed him my existence and if his wife or children please reach out to me, his story must be passed on. He literally saved my life and was the only man in Korea who believed in me.

Joe, was a good friend. I´m glad during his funeral services I was able to speak about our friendship. He enjoyed living a quality of life in an unbalance world. As I reflect things about Joe, myself, and others we enjoyed deep sea fishing, and just enjoying family time with love ones.
He is greatly miss.

I remember the good times going deep sea fishing with Joe Wright, and Bishop Cleveland. Each of us was able to catch a vast amount of fish on a chartered boat leaving Wilmington NC. Joe Wright was a caring person that always placed his soldiers needs above his own.

Respectfully, Submitted

Joe was a Soldier that was liked by a vast amount of people. He always reached out helping others. As I always tell people when you make a friend it´s a gift that you give yourself. God granted me a gift to know, and have Joe as a friend.

Mel, Joe, Maya
(MJM)

One day at a time, I find myself wanting to call Joseph, then reality appears, he's not here to help with my problems, concerns, and to have conversations about life, I will miss him dearly.
Thank you again for sharing your husband and your father. I was about at the end, when Joseph came back into my life. My endless gratitude to Joseph for expressing exact what I needed ten years ago (True friendship with a sprinkling of love). I wanted to write and tell you again how sorry I am for our loss, Joseph will be truly missed by everyone who knew him. Joseph was a giver, never a taker, He was always there to help no matter how busy, no matter the time of day, and never asking anything in return.
A friend like Joseph only comes around once in life, and it is with a heavy heart that I also grieve with you Mel, Joe, and Maya. His friendship meant the world to me. I couldn't have asked for a more genuine friend ( my older brother) Joseph. I am bless to have known this man (Thank you Lord).
Memories of our times together regardless of where we were or what we were doing will be forever held dear to me. May your memories bring you comfort in the days ahead. Your loss is also my loss
Although no words can really help to ease the loss we bear, may the comfort and peace of our GOD help us during these difficult times

I Love you all (MJM)

Mel, Maya and Joseph
Words can't express the sadness that I feel. We've known each other for over 20 years. We have a lot of memories. I'll miss Joe's laugh and his ability to make those around him laugh. He will truly be missed. I pray that God will continue to keep all of you in his embrace and that you'll find strength and comfort in him. God bless you all.

I have fond memories of my son-in-law. Joe, as long as we have the memories that you left behind you will always be in our hearts. Now, I don't have a fellow gardener to compete with or to talk to. You listened to me complain about the drought and how my garden wasn't doing well. I thought that you had the same problem until you sent me all of those emails that showed every thing that you planted looked so good! We had many good years with you. We all hoped for many more, but it wasn’t meant to be. Your time on earth was over, Joe. I want you to know that we will continue to take care of each other. We all love you so much, your mother-in-law, Geneva.

The Garcia Family will be forever grateful to Joe for all he has done for us. He was an inspiration. I used to jokingly refer to him as the "oracle" for he always either had the answers or found them out. We consider him a friend and are very sorry he could not stay with all of us for a few years more. He will be missed. The VA / PVA functions will never be the same now that Joe is gone. We are glad to have known him. The Homecoming service was beautiful. Thank you.

Melvetta and Family:

Please accept my condolences. Even though we have not seen each other in years, I can see from all of the other expressions that Joseph did not change over the years, still a man of integrity who loved his family. I know that he will be missed by all of you, but remember: “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” My prayers are with the family.

There is a feeling of emptiness that will always be with me. My father in law is honestly the most amazing man that I have ever known. I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to be in his life for the last 11 years. He was a teacher, a friend and he always put his family first. He has taught so many of us about the importance of living every day to it's fullest....I love you Dad. Now I know you are watching over mom, Joe, Maya and the rest of the family from heaven. We love you!!! We miss you sooo much. Sherise Malachi-Wright

To The Wright Family,

My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family as you struggle through the grief and sadness. As you comprehend this profound loss, let yourself cry knowing each tear is a note of love rising to the heavens. Life brings tears, smiles and memories. The tears dry, the smile fades, but the memories live on forever. Joe always made a difference with people.

With deepest sympathy,

Words cannot express what I am feeling right now for my brother Jr. He was our family mediator, financial advisor, medical assistance, friend, and coworker. I thank GOD every day and will continue for you being the brother that you are and because all the advice he's given me throughtout the years has worked in my favor. He is truly the Icon of this family. I will greatly miss him. As the Secretary of the Evans Family Reunion Association that was founded in 2003 by my brother, I will miss all the fun I had getting things organized for our reunions, especially all the phone calls did you get this done and critiquing those committe & board minutes. As for him being my research buddy on Ancestry.com I will assure you my brother I will continue the research and since you up there now in the heavenly kingdom. Please give me a clue in locating the mother of the five Evans brothers. When I'm stuck at researching, I know you will be there to edge me on. Love Always, Karen
