Mattie King
SPRING LAKE - Mrs. Mattie King, 87, of 737 Chapel Hill Road, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today, Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, in Bethel AME Zion Church with the Rev. Kenneth Brooks officiating. The burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Spring Lake. The family will receive friends at the church three hours prior to the service. Mrs. King is survived by her husband, Dannie King of Spring Lake; daughter, Bettye Davis of Spring Lake; and son, Alton King of Fayetteville. Arrangements by Patterson Memorial Funeral Home of Fayetteville.

To my Aunt Mattie the lady who spoiled me as a child gave me anything I wanted even when my parents tried to decline your act of love and kindness you respond that's for you lol.. living all the way in Ohio most of my life It hurts when things like this happen cause we don't get to see each other as much as we want to BUT growing up left memories that will never die and something I will always keep dear to my heart I love you and will miss YOU DEARLY ....Rest in the Lord until we meet again Aunt Mattie!!!!!

Ms. Mattie was a dear friend of my mother and I found her to be a beautiful and cheerful person. My prayers are with Bettie and the family. May the grace and comfort be with you in the time of your lost.
