Mildred Williford Obituary

FAYETTEVILLE - Mildred Carmichael Williford, 91, of Fayetteville, passed away on September 17, 2018.

She was born in Stanford, IL, on December 30, 1926, to the late Phillip and Lillie Carmichael. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Lemuel Williford.

Left to cherish Mildred's memory are her children, Phillip (Susan) Williford, Michael (Sharon) Williford, David (Laurence) Williford; grandchildren, Matt (Natalie) Williford, Ross Williford, Zach Williford, Sarah Williford, Morgan Williford; and great-grandchild, Zoey Williford.

Mildred was a member of Highland Presbyterian church for over 50 years. She earned her BS in Biology from Illinois Wesleyan University and her Masters in Public Health from UNC-CH. Throughout her career, she worked with Cumberland County Public Health and as a Biology teacher at Fayetteville High School. She proudly served as a member of the Cumberland County Mental Health Board.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Highland Presbyterian Church or the Salvation Army. A graveside service, officiated by Rev. Dr. Ernie Johnson, is planned for (12:00 pm), on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Lebanon Baptist Church. Services are entrusted to Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.
