Samuel Holden Obituary
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00pm Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel, officiating will be Dr. Ernie Johnson. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm to 3:00pm Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. \
He is preceded in death by his father, Joshua B. Holden.
Sammy received a Bachelors Degree in Business from Methodist College and worked as Chief Financial Officer at Carolina Model Homes. He also worked as the Financial Administrator of Highland Presbyterian Church until he retired. After retiring he worked part-time doing accounting work with Glenn Murphy & Co.
Sammy loved his family and friends and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Holden of the home; daughter, Candace Rebecca Mosteller & husband, Joshua of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Holden Joshua Mosteller and Hudson Samuel Mosteller; mother, Christine Crumpler Holden of Clinton; siblings, Oral B. Holden & wife, Shari of Stedman, Christy H. Boyette & husband, Wayne of Clinton and Kevin Holden & wife, Kim of Wilson; Father and Mother-in-law, Lester and Madeline Barnes of Clinton; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his loving dog, Gracie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sammy's honor to the Child Advocacy Center, P.O. Box 488, Fayetteville, NC 28302 or to the Fayetteville Urban Ministry, 701 Whitfield Street, Fayetteville, NC 28302.
Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman, NC 28391.

I am so sorry to hear about Sammy passing away. I worked with him at Carolina Model Homes in the 80's. He was a very kind & patient man and I really enjoyed working with him. I know that he was a man of God and I hope that gives you extra comfort in this time of sorrow.
