Susie Marie Fuller LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY - Susie Marie Fuller was born on April 28, 1938 in Spring Lake, North Carolina, the youngest daughter of John Fuller and Lucy Fuller. She passed away on July 30, 2018 in Lexington, Kentucky. She graduated from Anne Chestnut High School and she was a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church in Spring Lake until 1956, when she moved to New York City. In New York City, she joined Allen A.M.E. Church and was a member of the Usher Board and North Carolina Club. She attended Brown Business College in Brooklyn, New York. She worked for the United States Postal Service in New York City and then retired as a supervisor from the New York City Transit Authority in 1988 after 20 years of service, which included being in one of the first classes of women to drive the New York City subway train. In 1990, she moved to Lexington, Kentucky and worked for the Fayette County School Systems at James Lane Allen Elementary School. She leaves to mourn her passing three devoted children: a daughter Jewel Duncan (Thomas), a son Kevin Fuller (Rachel), and a daughter Chevon Fuller (Gary); seven loving grandchildren Priscilla, Jonathan, Tiffany, Adante, Shanoah, Asia, and Kristian; four great-grand children; two sisters Wilhelmena Jones and Frances Fuller (Robert); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including loving childhood friends Blondell Monroe Houston and Muriel Hodges-Allen. Special New York City friends Howard Wilson, Curtis Person, Maxine Josey, Eva McCord, and Maggie Stevenson have also held a special place in her heart for many decades. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, along with siblings Ella Mae Fuller, Lillian Hill, Evelyn Crocket, John Randolph Fuller, Larry Fuller and James Fuller. Services will be held at Milward-Southland, in Lexington, Kentucky, on Saturday, August 4, 2018. The family will receive visitors at 12:30 p.m., and the funeral services commence at 1:00 p.m., immediately followed by burial at the Lexington Cemetery. www.milwardfuneral.com
