William Lewis Ahl

1940 - 2025

Bill passed away on August 13, 2025. Bill was the son to the late Master Chief William Elick Ahl and Gretchen Lauris Lewis Ahl of Alma, Georgia. He lived a wonderful life surrounded by family and friends.?Growing up in Alma, he learned a love for farm life and football. This strengthened the character of the man he would become. He was named one of the first All State Football players from Bacon County Highschool in 1958. He went on to play for Georgia Tech. then getting his MBA at Baldwin Wallace University.
Bill served our Country in the United States Marine Corp from 1963-1966. Bill truly loved our nation and everything it stands for. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the Sharpshooter Badge. He was a boy scout himself, then went on serve as a leader once they adopted their grandson, Michael.
In 1983, Bill met the love of his life, Karen. They married in 1985. During this time he worked for the Brady Corporation (1987-2010). He spent many years traveling and loved every minute of it. Bill loved meeting new people and making new connections.
Bill was a member of Toast Masters. A certified boat Captain. Bill loved to hunt, fish, and camp. Bill was a green belt in Cane Masters International Association. He was a few hours short of his pilot's license. Bill had a passion for motorcycles and American muscle cars. He loved golf, but most of all, Bill loved his family.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents. Sisters Marsha and Harriet. Daughter Pamela and his great grandson Adrian.
He is survived by his wife, Karen. Daughter Kim. Sons Tracey, Bobby, Jason, and Michael. Grandchildren, Heather, Cline, Sydnee, and Whit. Great Grandchildren Kayla and Zayne. Great Great grandchild Alex. His beloved nieces are Stefani (Darrell), Lauris (Marty), Lindsey (Chris). His cherished great niece and nephews are Stephen, Reed, Hinson, Rigdon Sawyer Kate and his Great-Great-nephew Marsh Reed.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, our family is asking that any donations be made to the Bacon County high school Red Raiders football team in Alma Georgia.
