Frances Black Obituary

Attica - Frances I. (Walker) Black, 74, of Attica, died in the I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, on Friday, June 24, 2011, at 6:00 a.m.
Frances was born in Crawfordsville, on March 21, 1937. She was the daughter of the late John and Mable (Peffely) Walker. Frances was raised and attended school in Crawfordsville. In 1961 she moved to Attica.
While living in Crawfordsville, Frances first worked for R.R. Donnelley. After moving to Attica she worked for Radio Material Corp and Harrison Steel in Attica. Her last place of employment was for Flexel in Covington until her retirement in the late 80's.
Frances had attended the Attica Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed bowling, flower gardening, listening to country music, bird watching and riding motorcycles. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
On September 3, 1955, Frances married Ernest Lee Black in Crawfordsville. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2006.
Also surviving are two daughters, Theresa A. (Dennis) Shultz, Attica and Connie F.(companion-Brian Stevens) Gabbard, Crawfordsville; a son, Ernest "Ernie" E. (Angela) Black, Attica; three brothers, Robert Walker, Billy Walker and Darrell (Barbara) Parks, all of Crawfordsville; a sister, Betty Mitchell, Crawfordsville; six grandchildren, Angela, Denny, Tregg, Grant, Logan and Chase; four great-grandchildren, Lea, Nick, Chloe and Penny.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Tuesday, June 28th, from noon. until service time at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ben Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
