Jacob Baker Obituary
He was born on Nov. 26, 1941, in Danville, Ill., the son of William and Anneita (Gose) Baker. Jacob graduated from Schlarman High School in 1959 and attended DACC. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea.
Jacob married Nikke Fultz on Aug. 12, 1967, in Cayuga, Ind. She died Dec. 6, 2000.
Jacob was also preceded in death by his parents, son, Nathan Baker, grand-daughter, Journey Baker and sister, Jeanne Baker.
Survivors include: children, Jacob T. Baker Jr. of Mohave Valley, Ariz., Kathleen (Jeffery) Harvey of Covington, Daniel (Amy) Baker of Perrysville, Joshua Baker of Perrysville, Amanda (Joshua) Griffin of Newport, and Christina (Douglas) Holt of Perrysville; sisters, Mary Ellen (Robert) Stoutenour of Danville, Ind., Susan (John) Morphy of Perrysville, and Kathryn (Henry) Schmitt of Covington; brothers, Jonathon (Charlotte) Baker and William Baker, both of Perrysville; 20 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Jacob retired from Raybestos in Crawfordsville. He enjoyed playing basketball, playing cards, fishing, and mushroom hunting. Jacob loved spending time with his grandkids and watching them in school activities and sports. He will be dearly missed by his family.
Visitation will be 11 am - 1 pm Tuesday, February 13, 2024 with funeral mass at 1 pm all at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Covington with Fr. David Rasner officiating. Interment will be at Lower Mound Cemetery, Covington immediately after.
