Noble Gremore Obituary

Williamsport - Noble "Nobe" Paul Gremore, 94, formerly of Williamsport and had been residing at Autumn Trace Assisted Living in Attica, passed away in Autumn Trace on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at 9:01 p.m.

Nobe, as he was called by friends and family, was born near Vincennes in Knox County, Indiana on February 5, 1929. He was the son of the late Louis and Rose (Seals) Gremore. In his early years the family moved from Knox County to a farm near Portland Arch. Nobe grew up near Portland Arch, graduating from Covington High School in 1947. He later moved to Williamsport in 1965 and lived there until moving to Autumn Trace in January of 2022.

Following graduation, Nobe farmed and worked at Harrison Steel Castings Company. He later became an insurance underwriter for Prudential Life Insurance Company and worked for Prudential for 10 years. Following his sales in insurance, Nobe became Manager of the Warren County Savings and Loan in Williamsport and later merged and became Montgomery County Savings. He served on the Board of Directors for Montgomery Savings until his retirement. A lot of people remember Nobe working as a clerk for the local auctioneers in the area. He always had a smile on his face and knew no strangers. He attended the United Methodist Churches. He was an avid bowler and bowled on several leagues and also with his wife. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and raising a vegetable garden. You could always find him at the local coffee shops discussing the daily current events.

On March 26, 1950, Nobe married Norma Jean Martin in Covington, IN. Norma preceded Nobe in death on April 8. 2014.

Nobe leaves behind his daughter, Nancy Dillworth, Williamsport and a son, Neal (Jill) Gremore, Attica; four grandchildren, Angela Dillworth, Brandi (Matt) Walters, Tiffany (Brock) Frasch and Laura (Keith) Anson; six great-grandchildren, Lily, Dylan, Gus, Maria, Trey and Kaitlyn; a sister-in-law, Mary Gremore, Williamsport; a brother-in-law, Morris Martin, Covington; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Raymond "Ray" Gremore and Louis Gremore along with four sisters, Marie Crum, Burnis Laube, Pauline Peyton and Ruth Shookman.

As per Nobe's request, cremation services were accorded him and a private family gravesite service will be held at a later date in the Highland Cemetery, Williamsport. Memorial contributions may be made in Nobe's memory to the charity of one's choice.

Nancy & Neil- i am so sorry about Nobes passing, he will be missed by so many of us here at autumn trace communities. I remember the first time meeting nobe at crossroads while I was in high school, i walked up to get his drink order & he asked me if I knew what the round table was called & shrugged; he then told me the "liars table" & chuckled. Small memories of people like that tend to stick with me. He was always so polite to me. I wish you both well.

I can´t count all the things I learned from Nobe over the years. No doubt there are some things I learned from him that I´ll use in the future and remember that I learned it from him. Thanks for the countless hours riding around Warren and Fountain Counties with Bob Fox and me.
