As my Title I aide, she took a young single teacher new to Wisconsin under her wing and watched over him.
She took me to my first local reading council meeting and brought a plastic bag so I could save the leftover broasted chicken for later!
She was one of the best.
Rest in peace, Honey!

Audrey was a very special lady. I like the reference to the lipstick. I had the pleasure to have lunch with Audrey and her tablemates everyday. Right after lunch she would reapply her lipstick (with no mirror). As my dad (Roger) and I would leave from lunch she would always say "see you later alligator". Every time I hear that saying I will think of her. Like Elroy, we will miss her very much but we have a lot of great memories to keep us smiling when we think of her.

Mrs. Bastian would call everybody honey. I had the privilege of being one of the children that got to enjoy her at Elkhart Lake School. She will always be remembered for her whistle at recess. RIP Mrs. Bastian!

I unfortunately don't know Audrey but her obituary was so touching. "Lift High the Cross" was my late father's favorite hymn, too. I wish I would have had the privilege to meet Audrey; have her make the sign of the cross and say "one, two, three"!! She truly was an amazing Christian woman!!
