Craig Goeser Obituary

Goeser, Craig O.

Craig O. Goeser, 62, of Plymouth, WI passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017. He was born January 05, 1955, the son of Othmar and Alice Goeser. He married the love of his life, Lani Tichenor, on September 20, 1980. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Craig spent 39 years working in the dairy industry, both consulting in nutrition/finances, and building Goeser Dairy, LLC. Agricultural sustainability and economic viability was a strong focus of his. Craig was instrumental in founding and was president of the Sheboygan River Progressive Farmers organization to assist farmers in Sheboygan and Fond du Lac counties in implementing sustainable and ecologically-based farming practices.

Craig will be dearly missed by Lani, in addition to his four sons, John (Katie) Goeser, Nick (Renée Rioux), Dan (Anne Roubal), Luke, and his daughter, Laura. He has two wonderful grandchildren, Sam and Lucy. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law (Eileen Tichenor) and his daughter (Lyndsey).

In addition to being a great husband/father with a great heart, Craig was a man of unending motivation. He was immensely proud of all of his children and would never miss an opportunity to expound about their accomplishments to anyone who would listen. He extended his love through attendance and support at countless sporting events, professional accomplishments and personal moments for John, Nick, Dan, and Laura, and poured myriad hours mentoring Luke in both trap shooting and archery.

Cremation will take place and, upon Craig's wishes, a celebration of life will take place at the Greenbush Town Hall on Wednesday, August 16 from 4-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, The Goeser family kindly requests that any donations be made to the Sheboygan River Progressive Farmers organization (gofundme.com/Sheboygan-river-progressive-farmers). They also request that visitors bring a cherished memory or photo for a memory board. If you are unable to attend but still wish to contribute to the memory board, please submit them to [email protected]

Dad was a beacon of optimism, ingenuity, and energy who left this world too soon. We love you and will never forget the lessons you taught us. We will always cherish the time we were lucky to spend with you.

So sorry to hear of Craig's passing. As a coworker for many years I had the utmost respect for his passion and insights into consulting with dairy operations. When he left to put 100% of his efforts into managing the dairy operation I was saddened but knew it's where his heart led him. God bless his family and our memories of him!

Craig was an amazing man who was dedicated to good land stewardship and deeply loved his family. He led a bunch of us involved in agriculture to form the Sheboygan River Progressive Farmers organization. His efforts with SRPF will lead to more efficient farming with an eye toward protecting the environment and leading to long term healthy soils for future generations. He will be missed.

Craig was one of the first faces I met when I came to work at Vita Plus. I always respected the fact that he was doing what I was doing, and also running a farm. His values and energy have also been passed down to his children, as evidenced by my relationship with his son, John. John exhibits a lot of drive and enthusiasm, which I know came at least, in part, from Craig. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
