Joan M. Snider Simon

Joan M. Snider Simon, 92, of Eldorado, passed into eternal life Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Tower View Villa, Rosendale. She was born July 19, 1921 at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, the daughter of Frederick and Josephine Stratz Snider.

On September 24, 1940 she married Francis J. Simon at St. John's Catholic Church, Woodhull and he preceded her in death on February 14, 2006.

Mrs. Simon graduated from Fond du Lac Senior High School with the class of 1939. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Eldorado and presently a member of Our Risen Saviour Catholic Church, Woodhull.

She worked outside her home for 14 years, but devoted her life to raising her five children. Her greatest pleasure came from the love and pride she felt for her family. The love of her children and grandchildren was the most important part of her life.

She is survived by four children, Michael (Joanne) Simon, Berlin, James Simon, Neenah, Mary Jo (Larry) Czoschke, Eldorado, Mark (Patty) Simon, Rosendale; nine grandchildren, Michele (fiancé, Tim Sievert) Simon, Angela (Greg) Fralish, Matthew (Ann) Simon, Jennifer (Jeremy Butler) Simon, Heather (Todd Puszert) Simon, Jason (Shawna) Czoschke, Stephanie (Davis) Tsai, Kaitlyn Simon; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandson. She is further survived by two sisters, Mary (Floyd) Hanley, Thorp, Margaret Shafer, Fond du Lac; two brothers, David Snider, Fond du Lac, Paul (Janet) Snider, Eldorado; a bother-in-law, Oscar Marggi, Fond du Lac and other in laws, Mildred Simon, Rosendale, Cyril (Athleen) Simon, St. Peter, Alex Simon, Fond du Lac, Natalie Basler, Rosendale; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis; one daughter, Sr. Judith Simon; one grandson, Christopher Simon; two brothers, John Snider and Wilson (Dolly) Snider; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Snider; a brother-in-law, Sid Shafer and other brothers and sisters-in-law.

The visitation will be held from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Our Risen Saviour Catholic Church, Woodhull. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Our Risen Saviour Catholic Church, W8272 Forest Avenue Road, Woodhull, with Rev. Joseph Dominic and Rev. John Simon concelebrating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Tower View Villa and Hospice Hope for the wonderful care given to Joan.
