Kathleen Merwin Obituary
Kathleen Jean Merwin, 50, a resident of Fond du Lac, passed away February 11, 2015 at the Hospice Home of Hope.
She was born April 20, 1964 in Fond du Lac, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Patricia Jean Wohlwender Merwin.
Katie was a 1983 graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School. She was employed in various fields throughout her life. Katie was a grateful member of A.A. and attended meetings regularly. She was an avid softball enthusiast, playing ball for many years on several different local teams.
Survivors include three brothers, Chuck (Donna) Merwin of Oakfield, Jim (Joan) Merwin, and Ed Merwin all of Fond du Lac, two sisters, Teresa (Gil) Gilbertson, and Mary (Todd) Dallapiazza all of Fond du Lac, her former sister-in-law, Tracy Merwin of Fond du Lac, 17 nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation: The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 5:00 to 5:45 PM at the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street, Fond du Lac.
Services: Memorial services will be celebrated on Monday at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place and interment will be in the Rienzi Cemetery.

Katie I went to school with her In 6th grade we played tether ball she took first and I took 2nd. I remember making a Santa with her for the younger children. She was a great friend to every one.

sorry to hear of the loss...I knew Katie years ago as her sister Theresa and I used to play together. I lived on E 10th street and she was on the street that went past my house....I know of her heart issue and now she rests in peace....

I first met Katie in the 80's when she use to roller-skate at Majestic Roller Rink. She definitely was full of energy. Our paths met again a few years ago. The good times will not be forgotten. Rest in peace.

I knew Katie in grade school, she was friendly, personable and full of energy. We lost touch, but then I met her again at ARC, I was her case manager, and she often spoke of her struggles with her addiction and fought to overcome it. I was proud when she graduated.it I am saddened by the loss of her life and energy. I remember the feisty women she was.

Kate went a short time at St. Mary's Springs. She was alot of fun! She was a free spirit individual and never formed any opinion about anyone, until she made her own judgement. Kate had her hards times but she will always be an angel to all of us.
