Mary Damm Obituary
Mary Lou Damm, age 85, of Fond du Lac, went to the Lord on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born on October 21, 1931 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of John and Charlotte (Berry) Gehde. On January 26, 1952 she married Ralph "Butch" Damm in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on February 3, 1993.
Mary Lou was a longtime realtor in Fond du Lac and took great pride in matching people up with the proper home. She was extremely selfless, always devoting her time and energy to others. Mary Lou lived a strong spiritual life and was a devoted Marianist and servant of the Lord. She was member of the Third Order of Secular Franciscans.
Mary Lou was a devoted wife and mother of six. She had an infectious sense of humor and always strived to make people comfortable. She loved boating, swimming, fishing, traveling the world, motorcycles, and was a rabid Green Bay Packer fan.
Survivors include five children, Kathryn Ann Ottum, David John Damm, Michael Joseph (Maria) Damm, Karen L. (Tim) Close, John Ralph Damm; she leaves behind seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, John (Joan) Gehde; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son Jim; one brother Jim.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 9-11 AM at Holy Family Church-Holy Family Parish, 271 4th St. Way, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A Funeral Mass will follow at the church at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery.

To Mary Lou's family: I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Just returned home from 10 days at hospital to read this. It was an honor to call Mary Lou a friend. I knew her from Adoration at Sacred Heart Church and Thursday night Mass in North Fond Du Lac. She was also kind to my mother-in law Vicentia Steffes. May you rest in peace Marty Lou!
