Monica Schmitz Obituary
Fond du Lac - Monica Ann Hassenfuss Schmitz, daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Ford) Hassenfuss, passed away January 21, 2018 at St. Francis Home at the age of 93.
Monica was a devoted mother of six children. She was a gifted sewer, had a green thumb and loved to knit, crochet and bake. She was very proud of her Irish heritage.
When Monica did have a moment to herself, she loved to read. Monica was very giving of herself. She was a volunteer at St. Agnes Hospital for 25 years. She will be dearly missed by her family.
Monica is survived by her six children; Terry (Nancy), Carolyn (Ron) Betz, Ted (Naomi Burghardt), Debra (Bob) Evans, Douglas (Mary), Pamela (Kevin) Vizvary; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Gustave, and her parents, Monica's six siblings and a daughter-in-law, Lynn, preceded her in death.
In honoring Monica's wishes, a private family service will be held.
Monica's family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at St. Francis Home for their care and compassion in taking care of their Mother.

My condolences to the Schmitz family. Losing someone in death is so painful. But we look forward to a time when we can see the loved ones we have lost again. Here is a comforting thought found at 1 Thessalonians 4:13,14.
