Primrose Schindelholz Obituary

Primrose C. Schindelholz

Primrose Caroline (Dowland) Schindelholz passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the age of 92. Primrose was born in Fond du Lac on December 18, 1922 to Floyd and Molly (Holstein) Dowland. Primrose graduated from Fond du Lac High School in 1940. She married Joseph F. Schindelholz on February 16, 1945 in Lincoln, NE. Before her marriage to Joe, Primrose worked for the FBI in Washington, DC and the Infant Socks Company in Fond du Lac. After her marriage, Primrose worked part-time for the Beer Hut in Fond du Lac, and when all her children were in school, she worked full-time as a secretary in the Fond du Lac School District's Business Office, retiring after 25 years in January 1988.

Primrose enjoyed spending time at her home, traveling, golfing, casinos and time with family. She also enjoyed camping at Long Lake with her children when they were young and would spend several weeks there during the summers.

Primrose is survived by five children who loved and will miss her very much: Joseph (Connie) of Burke, VA, Molly (Ernest) Pickart, Thomas (Gail), Martin, and Martha Schneider, all of Fond du Lac; 10 grandchildren: Matthew (Carla) Marshall of St. Paul, MN, Joseph Schindelholz of Burke, VA, Steven Schindelholz of Burke, VA, Thomas (Rebecca) Pickart of Columbus, WI, Sandy (Bill) Sandlin of North Carolina, Maggie (Jake) Mueller, Christopher Schindelholz, Michelle (special friend Troy) Schindelholz, Andy (Sara) Schneider and Randy "Joey" Schneider, all of Fond du Lac; and 13 great grandchildren: Athen, Austin, Caleb, Christina, Elliot, Emilia, Eva, Meillo, Mykel, Sophia, Tianna, Vincent and Xavier. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, sister-in-law Shirley Dowland, and her special friend Dalton "Dot" Kubelt. Her husband preceded her in death on September 27, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Dalla Radtke, Virginia Goede and Ester Neumann; brothers: Franklin Dowland, Johannes Befus and Victor Befus; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws: Jack Donahue, Helen Donahue, Flora Kim, Delwin Schob, Joan Schob and Ted Goede; son-in-law Randy Schneider; niece Claire Lemke and nephew James Schob.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jack Harrison officiating. Private family inurnment will follow the service at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac. Cremation has taken place.

The family thanks Dr. Litman (Aurora Health Care), Dr. Jones (Cancer Center of Fond du Lac), the staff at Grancare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fond du Lac, and Tammy, Ashley, Stacy and Amanda (Aurora Home Hospice Care in Oshkosh). With their help, we enjoyed extended days with our mother and she was able to remain in her home of over 60 years.
