Pfeifer, Roland

Roland E. Pfeifer, 88, formerly of Eden, passed away surrounded by his loving family, on Sat., Sept. 12, 2015 at St. Francis Terrace, Fond du Lac. He was born in Manitowoc on March 20, 1927, the son of Clarence and Viola Enders Pfeifer.

Rollie was a Veteran of WWI, serving with the US Navy Seabees in the South Pacific.

On February 15, 1950, Rollie married Theresa Timblin at Our Lady of Angels Church in Armstrong, WI. Together they operated a dairy farm in the towns of Eden and Osceola for 35 years. After retiring, Rollie worked for the Sisters of St. Agnes for 13 years.

He was very involved in the community being a former member of the Eden Fire Department and belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Fond du Lac. Rollie was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church and served on the School Board of the former St. Mary's Church in Eden.

Rollie & Theresa enjoyed traveling throughout other States with good friends, taking trips up North, attending children's sports and activities & playing cards.

Rollie is survived by his wife of 65 years, Theresa, and their children; Daniel of Van Dyne, Michael (Nancy) of Fond du Lac, Thomas (Deb) of West Bend and Kristine of Lisle, IL. He is further survived by 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Rollie is also survived by 3 sisters; Thelma (Jerry) Schaefer of St. Cloud, Vi Loehr & Carol Vogds both of Fond du Lac, a sister-in-law, Margaret (Bruce) Stumbras of Orlando, FL and brother-in-law, Lee Bast of Fox Lake, IL, many nieces & nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Kathleen, 2 brothers-in-law, Robert Loehr and Ambrose Vogds and a sister-in-law, Rose Ann Bast.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Sept. 17th at 3 PM at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, W1562 Hwy B Eden. The Rev. Charles Wester will officiate and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Eden.

Visitation will be Wed., Sept. 16th from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Ave. Fond du Lac and on Thursday Sept. 17th at the church from 2:00 PM until time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mary Springs Academy, St. Francis Terrace or Shepherd of the Hills.

Theresa & family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff at St. Francis Terrace for the heartfelt service and compassion they provided.
