Sylvia Hermann Obituary
Sylvia Christina Hermann, 95 of Waupun, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Waupun Memorial Hospital.
Sylvia was born on July 24, 1920 in the Township of Trenton, WI, a daughter to Christopher and Sarah (Ferch) Vande Berg. She was united in marriage to Lester on April 28, 1945 in New Jersey. Sylvia was a Sunday school teacher for 50+ years. She enjoyed making tray favors for the Beaver Dam Residents at the Rehab Center and quilts for the graduation seniors. Sylvia was a member of Pella Lutheran Church and very active in the church and community. She enjoyed watching the Brewers, bowling and baking. Another passion was playing cards and beating the guys.
Sylvia is survived by her daughter Sharon (John) Stephens of Waupun and son Randy (Debbie) Hermann of Beaver Dam; 4 grandchildren, Mark and fiancé Brenda Stephens; Terry (Sandy) Stephens; Paul Hermann and Sara Hermann; 2 great grand children Alex and Dakota Stephens; sister-in-law Grace Hermann; nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989; grandchild in infancy; brothers and sister, Clarence (Jose) Vande Berg, Bill (Angie) Vande Berg,, Sadie (Art) Wendt, Melvin (Lorraine) Vande Berg, Chris Jr (Hazel) Vande Berg and brother in infancy.
A funeral service for Sylvia will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Pella Lutheran Church, 315 S. Madison Street, Waupun, with Rev. David Knuth officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Mound cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 P.M. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Kohls Community Funeral Home, 405 W. Main Street, Waupun and again on Wednesday at church from 10 A.M until the time of service.

What a joy it was to have known and loved our beloved Sylvia. I will always remember her fond love for our children in Sunday School and Pre-School where she touched those young lives with the love of Jesus. Her joyful attitude, her unbounding energy and always working on some crafts will always be remembered. Now that our beloved Sylvia is in heaven, may the joy and certainty of Jesus' Resurrection fill your hearts with peace and joy, where we will all see our beloved Sylvia again.
