Donna Christianson Obituary
July 14, 1938 - April 3, 2025
Donna Mae Christianson, age 86, formerly of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, passed away on April 3, 2025, in Hurricane, Utah, surrounded by her family.
Donna was born on July 14, 1938, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, to Clarence and Henrietta (Weets) Gunderson. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School with the class of 1956. On October 14, 1961, Donna married DuWayne Gordon Christianson at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
Donna worked for Schiller Insurance in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota for many years before retiring in 1993. In retirement, Donna and DuWayne enjoyed traveling together and spending their winters in Hurricane, Utah. Above all, Donna cherished time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.
Donna is survived by her children: Kevin Christianson of Las Vegas, Nevada; Steven (Michelle) Christianson of Henderson, Nevada; and Colleen (Dean) Johnson of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. They are also remembered by their grandchildren: Kayla (Nick) Reber of Las Vegas, Nevada; Cassandra (Alex) Fitzgerald of Hurricane, Utah; Jenna, Andrew, Callie, and Brandon Christianson of Sabin, Minnesota; and Katelyn (Anthony) Boehm of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Donna was a proud great-grandparent to Emerson and Maren Boehm. She is also survived by a nephew, Greg (Maria) Gunderson of Frazee, Minnesota.
Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband DuWayne Christianson; parents Clarence and Henrietta Gunderson; brother Buddy (Clarence) Gunderson; and sister-in-law Rose Gunderson.
The family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care provided by Southern Utah Home Health & Hospice. A special thank you to Cassy & Al for taking such great care of our "Gramcracker".
A family celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, Utah.

My wife Shirley who is an Alzheimer patient and I enjoyed Donna's Infectious smile and cheerful disposition. We miss her and have been praying for the family. Please accept our sincere condolences. Gerry and Shirley Buckner.

Donna was family to me. We spent many evenings setting on our steps talking while the kids slept. The two of us got into a lot of mischief. We sure had fun! We shared our kids. They were at one house or the other all the time. Forrest when he was small would have go to Donna´s early in the morning, step on the milk box and ring the doorbell for Steve to come out and play. That did go over as Donna liked to sleep in. Always good for a laugh. Donna was my best friend. Kevin, Steve and Colleen, my thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. I look forward to sharing laugher with Donna in the after life. All my love, Myrna

I just learned today of Donna´s passing. I was Donna´s hairstylist for several years when she lived in Fergus Falls. Every Friday she would come in with a smile on her face and new stories to tell. She adored all of her family and I felt like I knew each and every one of you, and yes it was always good things . We shared so many laughs together and I looked forward to her visits every week. What a treasure she was. Heaven definitely gained another angel! I remember one of her favorite sayings as she would quietly tell me "it wasn´t a good week if she didn´t raise a little hell" and then leave the salon with an even bigger smile. RIP Donna. My condolences to all of you.
