AMESBURY -- Barbara A. Kondig, 65, of Birchwood Court, formerly of Leominster, died at home Sunday, Jan. 5.
Born in Arlington on Oct. 25, 1937, she was the daughter of John and Lillias (Clark) LaBelle, and had been a resident of Amesbury for a few months, previously residing in Newburyport and Leominster.
A graduate of Merrimack College and Fitchburg State College, Mrs. Kondig had worked for many years with special needs children at Lunenburg Elementary School and later in Townsend.
Friends from the Newburyport YWCA remember her kind friendliness at the front desk.
She was a former member of the Board of Directors at the Link House in Newburyport.
She is survived by two children, Ann K. Elliott and her husband, Timothy, of Newfields and William C. Kondig of Greenville; and a brother, J. William LaBelle, and his wife, Bonnie, of Winchendon. Another brother, Richard P. LaBelle of Leominster, predeceased her.

Calling hours will be held at Simplicity Burial & Cremation Services, 287 High St., Newburyport, on Sunday, Jan. 12th from 1 to 3 p.m. A dear friend, Kevin Shea will share in a remembrance period at 2 p.m. A service of reflection will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery in Leominster, on Monday, Jan. 13 at noon.
