WESTMINSTER -- Catherine E. (Sheppard) Baker-Clark, 81, a 50-year resident of Westminster, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, in The LaChance Center, Gardner, after a long illness.
She was born in Fitchburg on July 3, 1922, the daughter of Frederick L. and Mary (Attridge) Sheppard.
Mrs. Clark was a nurse at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Fitchburg for many years.
She was a charter member of St. Edward’s Parish and its Women’s Guild. She was a 1941 graduate of St. Bernard’s Central Catholic High School and attended the former Leominster Hospital School of Nursing.
She leaves four sons, Chester J. Baker Jr. of Seabrook, N.H., James F. Baker and Bruce R. Baker, both of Westminster, and John F. Baker of Ashburnham; one daughter, Kathleen Howard of Lunenburg; one sister, Murial David of Fitchburg; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Her first husband, Chester J. Baker Sr., died in 1966. Her second husband, Irving Clark, died in 1991. She was predeceased by two brothers, Richard Sheppard of Fitchburg and Frederick Sheppard of Los Angeles, Calif.; and one sister, Alice Sullivan of Fitchburg.
BAKER-CLARK -- On Dec. 9, Catherine E. (Sheppard) Baker-Clark, 81, of Westminster. The funeral will be held Friday, Dec. 12, from the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, (www.masciarellifamilyfuneralhomes.net), 123 Main St., Westminster, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Edward’s Church, 10 Church St., Westminster. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery, Westminster. Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday, Dec. 12, from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the LaChance Center Activity Fund, 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner, MA 01440; or may be left at the funeral home.
