Daniel Bascomb Obituary
SSGT Daniel G. Bascomb Jr. was born in Tuskegee, Alabama on December 10, 1928, a son of the late Daniel G. Bascomb, Sr., and Annie (Satchel) Bascomb. He graduated from Boston Trade School, and enlisted into the US Army in 1948. He proudly served his country in Japan during the occupation after WWII, and a combat veteran of the Korean conflict and Vietnam War. Over his extensive 21-year military career he was stationed all over the globe, and eventually made his home in Shirley, MA, where he raised his family and resided for over 53 years before moving to Leominster in 2017. Daniel retired from the Massachusetts Department of Corrections, and served as a Commissioned Officer for the Mass State Special Police.
He loved fishing on his boat and always enjoyed spending time with his family, especially camping with his grandchildren.
Daniel is survived by his three children, Patricia Rowe and husband James Sr. of Shirley, Gregory Bascomb and wife Bonnie of Amherst, Franz Bascomb and wife Carol of Ashby; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Keiko Bascomb in May, 2020.

My sincere condolences to Mr Bascomb's family, relatives and friends. My mother Chie Coleman was very good friends with Keiko as my mother was also from Japan. Mr and Mrs Bascom were truly classy and gracious. Rest in Peace
