Daniel Furman Obituary
of Shirley; 75
SHIRLEY - Daniel Zev Furman, 75, of Shirley, died Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at his home after a 13 year struggle with multiple myeloma.
Daniel was born in Lakehurst, NJ, February 4, 1943, the son of David and Dvora (Harman) Furman.
In 1966 he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics from Northeastern University, Boston. Throughout his career he was employed by a number of computer technology firms, spending the last ten years as a quality assurance engineer at EMC Corporation in Hopkinton.
He leaves his wife of 51 years, Cynthia Mae (Conant) Furman, their daughter, Rebecca Alanna Dvora Furman of Shirley.
During his all too brief retirement, he enjoyed macrophotography in his wife's garden, motorcycle riding, designing and creating stained glass panels and riding his electric bicycle on the Groton Rail Trail. He was especially interested in antique cars as well as attending antique car shows throughout New England.
FURMAN - A memorial service will be held 1 PM Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the First Parish Church of Groton, 1 Powderhouse Road, Groton.
There are no calling hours.

Fond memories of Dan as a colleague at Genrad many years ago. I don't know what made me look for him online. Sorry to see that he has passed.

I just learned of Dan's passing. My sympathy to his family. He was a man of varied interests. We were in a car-pool together while attending Northeastern University.

Cindy and Becky I am so sorry for your loss. Years ago, I enjoyed celebrating Passover with your family. I also remember, around that time, Dan was the Historical Society consultant explaining to Lucy Longley how useful a copier could be at the new Museum. I'm sure that good memories of Dan will be around every corner for you. God bless you both and be with you.
