David was born in Leominster on September 18, 1957, son of Raymond T. and Jeannette C. (Bourque) Cormier. He had worked for many years as a machinist and inspector at General Electric Co. in Fitchburg and Lynn. David enjoyed going to the Encore Casino in Everett.
