Douglas McGregor Obituary

WINCHESTER, Va. -- Douglas Allen McGregor, 94, of Winchester, Va., and long-time business and civic leader in Fitchburg, passed away on Thursday, March 2, in Winchester, Va.

Mr. McGregor was a resident of Fitchburg for over 60 years and more recently resided at the Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury Retirement Community in Winchester, Va.

He was born and raised in Minneapolis. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Minnesota, he joined General Mills Company in the Farm Services Division, as an auditor and accountant. For 42 years, he was with Parks Cramer Company, serving as vice-president and treasurer. He was a member of the Financial Executives of Boston, the Fitchburg Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors of several Fitchburg banks, and Rotary International. As a Rotarian, he was a Paul Harris Fellow.

He was an active supporter of the Salvation Army. He obtained an associates degree in engineering from Fitchburg State College. He was a member of Faith United Parrish Church, serving on the finance committee, stewardship committee, and as a Deacon.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Myrtle S. McGregor of Westminster Canterbury in Winchester, Va.; a daughter, Dr. Bonnie McGregor Stubblefield, and son-in-law, Rear Admiral William L. Stubblefield of Martinsburg, W.Va.
