She was born in Central Falls, R.I., on Jan. 19, 1924, a daughter of the late Thomas and Marie (Dougherty) Kenny.
Sister entered the Sisters of the Presentation in February of 1942, and professed her final vows in August of 1947. She received her bachelor’s degree in education from Catholic Teacher’s College in Rhode Island, and her master’s degree in education and counseling from Boston College.
Sister taught at the elementary and high school levels at various schools throughout the Diocese of Worcester as well as Providence and Fall River Dioceses. She also served as a principal in the Diocese of Providence. Following her teaching career, Sister continued to work in the Providence Diocese as a DRE director and pastoral assistant. She also spent several years as the librarian at one of the local parish schools until sickness forced her to retire. Her love of people and her outreach to others was ever evident.
Sister Eileen leaves a sister, Margaret Crooks of Dedham, and several nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. She is predeceased by two sisters, Sr. Mary Catherine of the Sisters of the Presentation and Catherine Kenny of Central Falls, R.I.

My deepest sympathy to Sister Eileen's family and friends. I had the great fortune to meet her when I became a Catholic at St. Joseph's. She stood by me at my confirmation and has been a mentor and role model every since even recruiting me to be a CCD teacher. I also like to think of her as a friend who was always smiling and I only wish I got up to Leominster to visit her more. She never seem to complain no matter what her cross to bear and will be dearly missed.

My prayers go out to Sr.Eileen and her family and community. I taught religious education under her direction and it helped me grow in many ways in my spiritual life. She had a great sense of humor and will be missed. Sincerely Judy Crosby

Sister Eileen was my teacher, my mentor, and most importantly my friend since I first sat in her eighth grade class at St.Patrick's school in Whitinsville in 1957. Through the years we moved on with our lives but always kept in touch.I know that my dear friend has gone home to be with the Lord. She is now at rest with no more suffering or pain. I shall always remember her and miss her. Her friendship blessed my life in ways that only she and I could understand. May she rest in peace. Some day I shall meet her again in heaven.I shall never forget the joy and happiness her friendship brought me. Ann Marie
