Emily had a true gift for telling stories. The old Primary School had no library, so we´d take the kids to the Public Library for a story each week. Emily didn´t just read a story, she told the story. Even the most active child in the class didn´t move while she read. The kids were totally enthralled and loved to walk over each week. After the story, Emily would help the kids find an appropriate book to take back to class. I´m sure that her grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed many, many books with her. A true treasure who will be missed by many.

Back in the late seventies/early eighties, had no library in the Primary School. We would take our kindergarten classes over to the Public Library weekly and Emily would `read"them a story. Emily didn´t read a story, she told a story all while showing the kids the pictures. I had always brought work to do, but always became enthralled in watching her tell the story. I never got anything done. A true gift! I´m sure her grandchildren and great grandchildren benefited from hearing many stories.

We were so sorry to hear that we lost such a lovely lady. Mrs. Foster was a treasured helper delivering Meals On Wheels to my Mother with a smile, enabling my daughter Kelly to work in the Ritter Memorial Library when she was in High School and, making sure that her granddaughter Erin was a reader. I am a retired teacher and Erin was a student in my class. Her Mother was a volunteer in our Library. Emily was the perfect example of a lovely lady and all of those wonderful characteristics were passed on through the years and generations. I am proud to have known three generations of her family.
