WWII Navy veteran; avid Red Sox fan

MALDEN -- Frank Masiello, 78, of Malden, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, in a local nursing home, after a brief battle with cancer.
Born and educated in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was son of the late Nicholas and Dominicale (Tullo) Masiello. He had lived in Lynn and in Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Malden eight years ago.
Mr. Masiello was co-owner and president of Wade Moulds in Lynn for many years. Previously, he had been employed by the General Electric Co. in West Lynn.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a seaman first class aboard the USS Oberrender, the USS Chase and the USS Oregon City.
Mr. Masiello was a former communicant of St. Mary’s Church and had served as a volunteer for the parish. He was an avid Red Sox fan and a season ticketholder for many years. He also enjoyed woodworking and bocci ball.
He leaves four sons, Nick Masiello and his wife, Sue, of Lynn, Frank Masiello and his wife, Pat, of Wakefield, John Masiello and his wife, Laurie, of Pepperell and Stephen Masiello and his wife, Linda, of Leominster; two daughters, Julie Dionne and her husband, Roger, of St. Roberts, Mo., and Eileen Brown and her husband, Hank, of Chula Vista, Calif.; 10 grandsons; two granddaughters; two nephews, Vince Cirrincione and Nick Cirrincione; and two nieces, Marie DeVita and Diane Carasone. He was the former husband of Eileen (Golden) Masiello. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Cirrincione.
MASIELLO -- On Aug. 24, Frank Masiello, 78, of Malden. The funeral will be held at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Saturday, Aug. 28, at 9 a.m., with a Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster.
