DOVER, N.H. -- George H. Foss, 93, formerly of El Paso Street, Springfield, died Wednesday in Dover, N.H.
He was born in Fitchburg, Mass., and was educated in Fitchburg schools, graduating from Fitchburg High School.
Mr. Foss moved to Springfield in 1940 and was employed by Westinghouse as production clerk until 1970. He was a member of First Central Falls Baptist Church in Chicopee Falls, a member of Hampden Lodge of Masons, Tuesday Morning Music Club and East Springfield Chapter of Golden Agers.
His first wife, Sylvia (Anderson) Foss died in 1977. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Talbert Foss, a daughter, Judith Lynne Congo of Dover, N.H., two grandsons, four great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Jeannette Foss of Ohio.
The service will be private with burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Riverside Rest Home, 276 Count Farm Road, Dover NH 03821. Dickinson-Streeter Funeral Service in Springfield is handling the arrangements.
