She was born in Fitchburg on June 21, 1924, the daughter of the late Philip and Helen (Cushing) Rivers. She attended the former St. John’s Elementary School in West Fitchburg and graduated from St. Bernard’s Central Catholic High School in 1941.
Mrs. Stout went on to become a registered nurse, studying at Peter Brent Brigham School of Nursing in Boston and later worked at the former Fitchburg General Hospital for many years.
She was a loving mother and friend to many. Her presence will be missed, but her wit, humor and raspberry beret, will not be forgotten.
Mrs. Stout is survived by her son, Lester W. Stout Jr., and his wife, Joan, of Westminster; and their children, Ryan, B.J. and Amanda Stout and Jayson and Jennifer Salvi; her daughter, Linda J. Posco of Fitchburg, and her children Julianne, Christopher and Angela Posco; her daughter, Brenda L. Parisi and her husband, James, with whom she lived, their son, James Parisi, and his wife, Carrie, and their daughter Jessika, both of Ashburnham. She had 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way. She leaves her loving brother, Philip J. Rivers Jr. of Fitchburg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Stout was the wife of Fitchburg Police Patrolman Lester W. Stout, who died in 1973.
