Fitchburg – Janet R. (Lidberg) McCue, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2023. Janet was born in Fitchburg on June 5, 1936; she was a daughter of the late John and Ethel (LaPointe) Lidberg and was a 1954 graduate of St. Bernard's High School. She was a devoted employee of Fitchburg Public Schools, serving as secretary to the superintendent for many years. Her passion, work ethic, and dedication were an inspiration to all. Janet deeply valued her many beautiful friendships she had throughout her life. Janet loved traveling and spending time with her friends in Fitchburg and the Gray Gull in York, Maine.

Janet is survived by her two children, Brian McCue and his wife Marsha of Fitchburg, Maura Donovan and husband Terrence of Westminster; grandchildren, Patrick and Sean McCue; Michael Donovan and wife Siobhan, Kelly Parsons and husband Steve, Greg Donovan and wife Alli. Janet's great-grandchildren, Shea, Bo, Oscar, Maeve, and Brynn will fondly remember their GG; they lit a spark in her eyes and the brightest smile that none of us will soon forget. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Paul Fisher and several nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by her husband Mark D. McCue, as well as her siblings, Marion Haudel, Ann Fisher, Robert Lidberg and Edgar Lidberg.

Calling hours will be held in the Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg on Wednesday, October 11, from 4-6pm. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 12, in St. Bernard's Parish at St. Camillus Church, 333 Mechanic St., Fitchburg at 11am. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at P.O. Box 849168 Boston, MA 02284 or via dana-farber.org/gift
