Jean Roux Obituary
Jean Mary Roux, 80 passed away on Sunday, January 9 at the Heywood Hospital in Gardner.
Jean was born September 17, 1941 in Fitchburg a daughter of the late Eddy and Florence (Robillard) Roux.
Jean is survived by her brother, Francis Roux and his wife Lucille of Clinton, nieces, Amy Walsh and her husband, Martin, Linda Learned and her husband, Philip, nephews, Denis Roux and his wife, Sylvia Breault, Alan Roux and his partner, Carolyn Baker, Michael Roux and his wife, Diane, Paul Roux and his wife, Amy, many great nieces and great nephews.
Jean was predeceased by her brother Leo Roux.
From the age of 18 until she was 60, Jean was the housekeeper at St. Joseph's Rectory in Fitchburg. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Parish and the Ladies of St. Anne's.
Jean enjoyed bingo, dancing, going to the movies, crafts and animals.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers in Leominster and Baldwinville who loved Jean, advocated for her tirelessly, and kept her safe and happy.
The family would also like to thank the Gardner VNA, ARC of Fitchburg, and Beauregard family for taking Jean into their home as well as the Joseph House family for looking out for her.
Roux
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 13 in St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A calling hour from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the Mass will be held in the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg, MA 01420 or Open Sky Community Services 4 Mann St. Worcester, MA 01602.
