Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather
FITCHBURG -- Louis Marchetti, 91, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017, at Health Alliance, Leominster Hospital. Louis was best known for his restaurants, the most recent being Marchetti's Pizza, which became the model used by several restaurant chains. Louis was born in Paris, France, February 5, 1926, son of John F. and Angilina (Quatrocchi) Marchetti.
Prior to immigrating to the U.S., Louis worked as a toolmaker in Paris, France, manufacturing parts for the wartime effort. Shortly after, he enlisted in the French Air force and served in the European Theater during WW II. There he met his beloved wife and business partner Simone Menardi. A work related accident left him blind in one eye leaving him to rejoin the rest of his family who had earlier immigrated to the United States. Simone rejoined him and they wed in April 1958. The two worked at a relative's laundromat to earn enough money to start his first restaurant. While living in Pittsfield, he was influenced by the works of Norman Rockwell, who frequented his restaurant. Apart from his love of the kitchen, Louis was an avid painter and musician.
Besides his wife of 59 years, Louis leaves his son Jacques "Jack" Marchetti and his grandaughter Sophia Marchetti.
MARCHETTI -- A Memorial Mass for Louis will be held on Wednesday, April 5th at 11:00 A.M.,at St. Camillus, St. Bernard Church, 333 Mechanic St., Burial will be private. Bosk Funeral Home, is assisting the family. Please do not send flowers. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA. 02472, boskfuneralhome.com.

Sorry for your loss Mrs Marchetti and Jack. He was a really nice man and I enjoyed working with him while I was at Marchetti Engineering.

Sorry for your loss ~ Simone, Jack , Sofia & family ~ ~ I thought Louis was a funny guy ~ I remember him helping me with the leaves ~ and Christmas's together at the Herrick's ~ Jack getting him to play songs on the guitar ~ the beautiful paintings Jack has hanging in his house ~ heard he wanted to recently make pizza's ~ still had it in him ~ wow ~ i have a tear in my eye as i'm thinking about how much he will sadly be missed by all that were close to him ~ glad to have met your family ~ Farewell to you Mr. Marchetti

i used to eat at the pizza place when i was younger till i was in my 20s he was allways a gentle and sweet man until he got mad lol my condolenses to the family
