Matthew Lisle Obituary

Leominster

Dr. Matthew Hampton De Lisle, 50, of Leominster, unexpectantly passed away in his home on November 7, 2022. His cause of death is currently unknown, but the family awaits a report from the medical examiner.

Matthew was the son of the late Dr. Richard William De Lisle (Fitchburg MA) and Margaret Louise Hampton De Lisle (Punxsutawney PA). Dr. Matthew practice alongside his father, Dr. Richard, for a few years before Dr. Richard retired in 2006. Dr. Matthew was a graduate of Leominster High School. He continued his education with undergraduate school and ultimately earned a degree as a Doctor of Chiropractic from Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward California.

Matthew lived and practiced Chiropractic in Ecuador for a year where he met his (ex) wife, Vanessa. They returned to Leominster together where they had their son Aaron. Vanessa returned to Ecuador with their son in 2018.

Matthew practiced Chiropractic in Leominster for 25 years and in that time helped many people. He was incredibly intelligent and had an amazing passion for life. He was a talented cook, gardener, woodsman, musician and was constantly expanding his knowledge through reading.

Matthew spent much of his time in his garden and hiking throughout New England. He loved botany and enjoyed his time searching for and identifying rare plants in the local woods. He studied functional neurology and nutrition and applied that knowledge to his Chiropractic practice where he was able to help countless people within the community. He had a deep knowledge of the healing power of cannabis and was passionate about sharing this knowledge with others.

Matthew leaves his son Aaron, his brother Benjamin W. De Lisle and wife Cathy and their son Gavin (WA). His sister, Dr. Marisa E. De Lisle, and her husband Jason and their two children, Olivia, and Hayden (WA). His sister, Elena D. De Lisle-Perry, and her husband Steve and their two children, Adah, and Weston (WA).

The family has decided to have a private service for Dr. Matthew. If friends and family would like to donate in his memory, donations can be made to Doctors for Cannabis Regulation. https://www.dfcr.org/

Matt was a wonderful compassionate person and gifted chiropractor. He helped me many times to get out of pain and back to health. I'm so sorry that he has left us at such a young age. He was a true Healer.

Matthew was one of the kindest, helpful and generous people I've had the pleasure to have known.
Rest In Peace brother, although your time here was brief, you've made a large impact on those who knew you.

Marisa, Ben, Elena and family,
Sincere condolences. I'm shocked and dismayed.
Being around Matt was always a mind/knowledge-expanding experience infused with humor. Truly an exceptional individual, as were his father Richard, DC (a long-time, close, dear friend and extraordinary mentor who had a lasting effect on my life) and uncle Robert.
Safe journeys all,
Peter
