Paul Ciccone Obituary

Paul Ciccone Jr.
of Ashburnham, formerly of Leominster

ASHBURNHAM -- Paul Ciccone Jr., 72, of Ashburnham, formerly of Leominster, died after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on July 21, 1945, in what was then he unmapped and sparsely populated town of Leominster, the son of Paolo and Anna (Marciaro) Ciccone. Paul was an author, he had two books "Oh Brother" and "Old Man of Naukeag" published. He was also a poet and retired master pressman. Paul graduated from Leominster High School in 1963 and volunteered for military service at the age of 17 and served as a United States Marine, from April 1963 until July 1967, when he was honorably discharged a decorated veteran of the Vietnam Era.

Paul leaves his wife Vita R. (Renda) Ciccone, his sons Peter Ciccone and Thomas Ciccone both of California, daughters Maria Ciccone and Paulina Ciccone both of California, sisters Mary Nelson of Florida, Elvira DeVarney of Leominster, and Pauline Ciccone of Florida, brothers Matteo Ciccone of Leominster and Thomas Curran of Tennessee, grandson Thomas Ciccone of California, his ex-wife and friend Angela Ciccone of California, several nieces and nephews. He also is survived by his stepchildren Anthony Bernier of Rhode Island, Crystal Bernier of Gardner and Jeanne Racine of Leominster.

Paul enjoyed writing, fishing, hunting, the stock market, long walks in the woods and "lively " conversation with family and friends. To him: "Words are but a mirror to our thoughts. They disclose in an instant what we dare dream".

CICCONE -- Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 23rd, from 5-7 pm, in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. www.richardsonfuneralhome.net.

_The Old Man of Naukeag_ by Paul Ciccone, Jr.

May 28, 2019

"The Old Man of Naukeag" is a coalescence of personal encounters and cognitions that span more than six decades of the author's life adventures. Its theme is based upon the assumption that "life is stranger than fiction." "The Old Man of Naukeag," in fusing the average with the unusual and the common to the rare, boasts an unusual collage of unique and diverse tales...all penned to entertain its readers.

My deepest condolences to the family of Paul. He was truly an amazing man. We were together for 11 years and had the most amazing times with our children camping in many places, swimming in the lake and many fun times traveling. Some of my sons best years growing up. Our children spent thier young years together. He refused to call me Lisa, and always called me Liz so that all his family and our friends also called me Liz. I will always remember the times he took me hunting with him and the quietness of nature he taught me. After I moved away to Florida, I would always make the time to visit him and Vita and catch up on old times whenever I flew home to see my family. We always remained close friends. He will always be in my heart and all the memories he gave me will always be etched in my heart and mind. Many prayers for the loss of a truly great man and father to Peter, Tom, Maria, and Paulina!

My Dearest, most Special One Papa: you are the gift and blessing of ten-thousand and more in one and saved and gave to ten-thousand and more by saving and being the precious "One" that you are-- and will continue to be-- forever and ever, "Amen! Amen!". I will cherish it all and "Live life well and accent it with kind deeds. Radiate pure thoughts from your heart, establish good actions, and hold your words to praising others. Then, as the winds of fate carry your deeds across the plains, through the valleys, and high onto the place of mountains majesty, the echoes of life shall resound in recognition of you." --Paul Ciccone, Jr "Old Man of Naukeag"
