Raymond Allaire Obituary
lifelong resident of Fitchburg
Raymond F. Allaire passed away Tuesday, June19th at the Fitchburg Health Care (formerly the Golden Living Center of Fitchburg). Raymond was born in Fitchburg January 19,1926 Son of Raoul and Mabel (Bodah) Allaire. He lived in Fitchburg his entire life.
In 1946, Ray married Annette Leblanc the love of his life. They were married 68 years, setting a wonderful example for their family.
Ray enlisted in the United States Navy in 1944 and served during WW2 aboard the USS Threat. He participated in the European African Middle Eastern Theatre. He was a Gunner's Mate and was honorably discharged in 1946.
He worked at the former Falulah Paper Company, Sanvel and he finished his working career at the former Vogue Wallcovering.
He was a former member of the St. Francis horseshoe league and card group. He was also a member of the Friendship Club and the Senior Center Men's group.
He and Annette enjoyed traveling to Florida for the winter for over 20 years.In addition to traveling they enjoyed dancing and playing cards with their friends.
He is survived by his son Stephen and his wife Donna, daughter Tricia and her husband Don all of Fitchburg. Four Grandchildren, Scott and his wife Alison and Amy Narro and her husband Efrain of FItchburg,Kristen Zina and her husband Kevin of Bolton and Alex Normandin of North Reading. Two Greatgrandsons Connor and Colby Zina of Bolton.
He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Annette Allaire in 2015, brothers Richard, Robert, Raoul, Ted and sister Lillian.
ALLAIRE - His Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 25th at 11 AM at St. Francis Church, 81 Sheridan Street, Fitchburg. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 at the funeral home. A Private burial will held at a later date at the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Winchendon. The Lavery Chartrand Alario Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., Fitchburg, MA is directing. Michael S. Alario Director - Owner.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Francis Renovation Fund, 81 Sheridan St., Fitchburg, MA 01420.
The Family wishes to thank Dr. Edward Kamens and the staff at the Fitchburg Health Care for their compassion during Ray's final months.

Ray and Annette were not only married 68 yrs, but they both set moral and religious standards for the Allaire's and everyone else to try to follow. Will remember his visits to Florida as well as the visits with his mother and father (my grandfather/grandmother) on Bemis Road. His was a long life well lived.
