Raymond Mahan Obituary
Raymond Edward Mahan,95, died Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at The Highlands in Fitchburg, MA.
He was born in Worcester on September 6, 1927, a son of the late Thomas Mahan and Mathilda Bourque.
Raymond was a tractor-trailer driver delivering plastics for various companies for 35 years before retiring from Novacor chemicals. Following retirement, he drove limo for Donahue limousine, delivered prescriptions for Adams pharmacy, and made deliveries for Central Courier
Raymond was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years, a member of the American Legion and the Teamsters Union.
He loved to travel, California and Las Vegas were his favorite destinations. He enjoyed reading, playing cards, telling jokes, singing, and spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife, Theresa (Thibaudeau) Mahan.
He leaves five sons, Lionel Mahan and his wife Diana of Texas, Keith Mahan and his wife Stacy of Lowell, Richard Mahan of Leominster, Robert Mahan and his wife Stephanie of Leominster, Kyle Mahan of Leominster; one daughter, Brenda Wood and her husband Roy of Leominster with whom he lived for the 2 years prior to his death; grandchildren, Rebecca Mahan of Ware, MA, Vanessa Thomas of Whittingham, VT, Dylan Mahan of Leominster, Hunter Mahan of Lowell, Jaimee Mahan of Hudson, MA, Kaitlyn Mahan of Nashua, NH, Matthew Wood and his wife Beth of Keene, NH; great-grandchildren, Taylor Kelley of Wilmington, VT, Chase ,Carver, Cindy Thomas of Wittingham, VT, Elliott and Evelyn Wood of Keene, NH; and several nieces and nephews.
He also leaves his longtime companion, Dottie Hatstat, her daughter Debbie, and her boyfriend Steve.
Calling hours will be held Monday, Monday, March 6, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Raymond's memory be made to The Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org.
