HOOKSETT, NH --Robert E. Willard I, 78, formerly of Townsend, MA, died Thursday, September 25, 2014, at his residence.
Mr. Willard was born in Leominster, MA, May 16, 1936, a son of John B. and Nellie (Rixham) Willard, and grew up in Leominster. He was a graduate of Leominster High School, class of 1954. He resided in Townsend, MA before moving to Hooksett 37 years ago.
He leaves his wife of 37 years, Eloise P. (LaPorte) Willard; his former wife, Theresa Willard Maxfield of Leominster and their children; a son, Robert E. Willard II of Washington, DC; five daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Butch Maxfield of Harrison, ME, Susan and Jim Hamel of Townsend, Donna and Gus Lebkuecher of Harrison, ME and St. George, Utah, Becky and Alan Doyle of New Ipswich, NH, Carol and David Holmstock of Berwick, ME; a stepdaughter, Michelle Plante of Manchester, NH; a stepson, Lou Plante of Hooksett, NH; brother, Warren Willard of Leominster; a sister, Leila Kane of Leominster; seven grandchildren, David Hamel, Julie Siciliano, Joshua Bradbury, Justin Bradbury, Shane Holmstock, Emilie Holmstock, Parker Norley; six great-grandchildren, Kyle Hamel, MacKenzie Bradbury, Kinnon Bradbury, Caiden Bradbury, Katelyn Siciliano and Anna Siciliano.
He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Before retiring in 1994, Mr. Willard owned and operated Willard's Kitchen Center in Hooksett. During the 1960's - 70's, he worked as a policeman in the Town of Townsend.
He and his wife spent many winters in Dade City, Florida where he enjoyed golfing. He also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and working outdoors.
WILLARD -- Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, September 29th at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main St., (Rte. 119), Townsend Center. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Mr. Willard's family will receive family and friends on Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hooksett Fire - Rescue Department, 15 Legends Drive, Hooksett, NH 03106.
