Roland H. Martin, age 60, of Fitchburg passed away on July 31st after a long illness. Roland was born on June 27, 1961 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont to the late Gerard and Jeannette (David) Martin.
Roland is survived by his loving wife, Pamela (Towne) of 33 years, his sisters Lise McKay, Carmen LaBree, Diane Orne, Marielle Wood, Cecile Martineau, Marie Jean Mello and Elaine Martin, his brothers Larry, David and Daniel Martin, along with many in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Nicole Conforti.
Roland was a graduate of Leominster High Trade School Class of 1980 where he learned welding and was also a participant of the wrestling team. Roland honorably served 4 years of active duty in the U.S. Army. After completing his military commitment, Roland became a lifelong carpenter and was also a jack of all trades.
Roland was a helping and loving individual who was devoted to his family, he would do absolutely anything humanly possible for them. He was an animal lover and doted on Charlotte, his feline companion. He loved being a practical joker and had an infectious laugh. He enjoyed nature in all forms, whether in the woods or along the sandy shores and would care for any animal in distress.
Graveside Service
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Florence St., Leominster on Monday, August 9th at 11:00 a.m. There are no calling hours.
